Strategic Issues Paper (SIP)
The first step in the Pre-Draft Public Consultation phase is the publication of the Strategic Issues Paper and an invitation to make submissions. Submissions will be accepted from members of the public and prescribed stakeholders up until 3.30pm, on Friday 17th February, 2017.
To enable the new plan reflect the broad wishes of the local community, the general public is invited to attend INFORMATION EVENINGS regarding the preparation of the County Development Plan Review 2019-2025
What is a County Development Plan?
The County Development Plan is a plan which details the overall strategy of the Council for proper planning and sustainable development. It includes the broad aims of the Council for specific topics which amongst others, include, housing, infrastructure, community and environment.
Why is it important?
The Meath County Development Plan 2019-2025 will set out the strategic aims of the County and will be the most important corporate document the Council prepares. It will provide a blueprint for the economic, social and infrastructural development of County Meath over the plan period. Furthermore it constitutes the main public statement of planning policies and objectives at county level. The plan will provide the template against which all future development projects are progressed.
